As reported by BizPac Review, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin delivered an emotional defense of the Trump administration’s efforts to locate and protect migrant children who became unaccounted for under policies implemented during the Biden administration.
Speaking alongside Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche during a recent press conference, Mullin described what he called “absolute horrific things” discovered as federal agencies work to track down hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied alien children who entered the United States during the border crisis. Federal officials announced that approximately 146,000 children have been located so far, while investigations continue into the whereabouts of many others.

\According to administration officials, the rescue effort is part of a coordinated initiative involving the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and Department of Health and Human Services. The agencies are reviewing sponsor records, trafficking reports, and allegations of abuse connected to children released into the United States without sufficient follow-up oversight. Federal officials say the effort is focused on protecting vulnerable minors and prosecuting those who exploited weaknesses in the immigration system.
Mullin, a father of six, spoke passionately about the responsibility government leaders have to safeguard children.
“As a father of six with three young girls, I’ll do whatever I have to do,” he said. “I will move heaven and hell to go find these kids.”
The secretary accused the previous administration of failing to properly vet sponsors and ignoring warning signs regarding abuse and trafficking. He pointed to reports showing significant gaps in oversight of unaccompanied minors and argued that many children were placed at risk as a result. Federal investigations have already led to criminal charges in several cases involving alleged sponsor fraud and child smuggling operations.
Acting Attorney General Blanche announced indictments against several Guatemalan nationals accused of exploiting the sponsorship process to bring children into the country through fraudulent means. He also stated that authorities have identified more than 15,000 “super sponsor” cases involving individuals who allegedly sponsored multiple unrelated children.
For many Americans, the revelations have renewed concerns about border security, government accountability, and the protection of innocent children. Scripture repeatedly emphasizes God’s concern for the vulnerable and warns leaders against neglecting their duty to protect those entrusted to their care. The growing investigation has become a sobering reminder that immigration policy carries real human consequences, especially when children are involved.
As rescue operations continue, administration officials say their mission remains simple: locate every child possible, hold traffickers and abusers accountable, and ensure that such failures are never repeated. While political leaders continue debating immigration policy, the focus of investigators remains on finding children who may still be in dangerous situations and bringing those responsible to justice.
