A UK-born man accused in a deadly string of attacks across the Atlanta area has now been taken into custody, as reported by Sky News. Authorities say 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel is accused of murdering two women and shooting a homeless man in what investigators described as an apparently random rampage.
According to the report, one victim was Lauren Bullis, 40, who was allegedly stabbed and shot while walking her dog in Panthersville. A second woman, who had not been publicly identified in the report, was found with gunshot wounds in the Decatur area and later died at a hospital. A 49-year-old homeless man was also shot multiple times outside a grocery store in Brookhaven and remained in critical condition. The attacks happened several miles apart in the Atlanta suburbs of Decatur, Brookhaven, and Panthersville.
The article also reported that Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the acts were “pure evil” and stated that Bullis worked for his department. That language captures the horror of a crime spree that left families grieving and a community shaken by sudden violence. Scripture teaches that every human life bears the image of God, and crimes like these are a grim reminder of what follows when evil is acted out without restraint.
Most importantly, the suspect is no longer at large. Sky News reported that Brookhaven Police said Adon Abel was detained without incident in Troup County, southwest of Atlanta. He now faces charges including malice murder, aggravated assault, and firearms charges, according to court records cited in the report.
The report further said the suspect had previous convictions, including sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, assault with a deadly weapon, and vandalism. It also stated that he was born in the UK, became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2022, and previously served in the U.S. Navy. Authorities said the investigation remains active and may connect him to additional shootings in DeKalb County.
